Head of Learning & Curriculum Implementation Job Description

Job Description****

Head of Learning & Curriculum Implementation (Pre-Primary School, Daycare & Extended Programmes | Ages 2–8)

Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan

Work Mode: Fully On-site

Employment Type: Full-time

About Bodhira

Bodhira is a pre-primary learning school with integrated daycare and extended evening  programmes, serving children aged 2–8 years. The school is grounded in a clearly articulated  Academic Charter and a 12-pillar curriculum framework

Bodhira rejects both:

• rote, performance-driven schooling, and

• unstructured, supervision-only daycare.

At Bodhira, care and learning function as one integrated developmental system. Every part  of a child’s day—classroom learning, meals, rest, transitions, play, and extended care—is treated  as a learning environment.

Engagement matters.

Engagement alone is not evidence of learning or development.

Role Overview

The Head of Learning & Curriculum Implementation is the senior academic leader  responsible for translating Bodhira’s educational philosophy into consistent daily practice across:

• Pre-primary classrooms

• Daycare routines

• Extended evening programmes

This is a decision-making, standards-setting role, not a coordination or support function. The role serves as the academic and developmental spine of the institution. Position & Authority

• Reports directly to the Founder

• Holds full academic and pedagogical authority over:

o Classroom implementation

o Teaching quality

o Curriculum interpretation

o Developmental quality of daycare and extended programmes

Founder intervention is limited to:

• Philosophy drift

• Outcome dilution

• Cultural misalignment

Operational autonomy is expected.

Philosophical alignment is non-negotiable.

Purpose & Core Accountability

The role exists to ensure that:

• The 12-pillar curriculum framework remains coherent across the entire child day • Learning and care together lead to observable developmental progress • Teaching and caregiving standards remain high, consistent, and intentional • Parents clearly understand Bodhira’s integrated school–daycare approach

Curriculum & Learning Leadership

Key responsibilities include:

• Translating the curriculum framework into meaningful daily practice • Ensuring learning experiences are:

o Developmentally appropriate

o Intentional

o Outcome-oriented

• Treating care routines (meals, rest, hygiene, transitions) as developmental opportunities • Preventing:

o Over-academisation during school hours

o Under-structuring during daycare and extended programmes

• Ensuring enrichment programmes (music, digital literacy, SEL, etc.) strengthen core  development

• Intervening when activities are engaging but educationally or developmentally weak

This role does not require writing daily lesson plans, but does require strong judgement over  their quality and intent

Teaching & Adult Leadership

The Head of Learning is responsible for standards, not adult comfort.

Responsibilities include:

• Regular observation of classrooms, daycare, and extended programmes • Providing clear, direct, and actionable feedback

• Coaching, correction, and escalation when required

• Recommending exits where practice or mindset consistently violates Bodhira’s principles • Occasional direct engagement with children to:

o Model quality practice

o Maintain academic credibility

o Support continuity when required

Pedagogical & Care Guardrails****

The role must actively prevent:

• Daycare becoming passive supervision

• Random or repetitive activities without developmental progression

• Premature academics or performance-driven instruction

• Avoidance of challenge in the name of emotional safety

• Over-controlled or compliance-driven environments

Decisions must follow this hierarchy:

1. Child wellbeing and dignity

2. Developmental appropriateness

3. Long-term capability and independence

4. Learning intent over convenience

5. Consistency over adult comfort

Observation, Outcomes & Progress

The role requires strong observational and analytical judgement to:

• Identify developmental progress across curriculum pillars and daily routines • Differentiate engagement, regulation, and learning

• Support qualitative interpretation and documentation of development

• Avoid checklists, tests, or age-inappropriate benchmarks

Accountability lies in how development is understood, not just what activities occur. Parent Interface

The Head of Learning is the primary academic and developmental point of contact for  parents, including:

• Admissions conversations

• Post-admission academic and care-related queries

• Ongoing communication regarding child development

The role requires calm, clear explanation of Bodhira’s philosophy without dilution, comparison driven promises, or academic acceleration narratives.

This is a bridge role, not a sales role.

Systems & Organisational Discipline

Comfort with ERP, LMS, and documentation systems is required to:

• Track learning and development across the full day

• Support reflection and accountability

• Communicate meaningfully with parents

Discomfort with systems is considered a role risk, not a preference. What Success Looks Like

Within the First 90 Days

• Improved consistency across classrooms, daycare, and extended programmes • Adults seeking feedback rather than avoiding it

• Confident handling of parent conversations

• Clear articulation of:

o What Bodhira does

o Why it does it

o What it deliberately refuses to do

Longer-Term

• Stable philosophy under pressure

• Strong developmental outcomes

• Quality that holds as the school grows

Who This Role Is For

This role is suited for someone who:

• Thinks developmentally, not transactionally

• Is outcome-focused, not activity-driven

• Can hold authority calmly and clearly

• Is comfortable with accountability and systems

• Understands early education and care as one integrated system Degrees matter less than judgement, observation, and thinking ability. Non-Fit Indicators

This role is not suitable if you:

• Treat daycare as supervision rather than development

• Avoid conflict or difficult feedback

• Prioritise parent approval over child development

• Hide behind jargon or resist accountability

Work Structure & Terms****

• Fully on-site role in Jaipur

• Presence aligned with school and daycare operations

• Availability beyond classroom hours for feedback, planning, and parent interaction • Extended days and select Saturdays as per school calendar

• Compensation commensurate with experience and responsibility

• Probation and notice terms to be shared during the hiring process

Final Note******

This is a high-trust, high-responsibility leadership role

If you are seeking a narrow, low-conflict, school-hours-only position, this will not be the right  fit.

About School

Bodhira is a pre-primary learning school with integrated daycare and extended programmes, built on a clear developmental philosophy and an outcome-oriented curriculum framework. We treat learning and care as one integrated system. Classroom time, play, routines, transitions, and extended hours are all considered part of the child’s developmental day. We consciously reject: • Rote, worksheet-driven schooling • Passive or unstructured daycare Every adult in the learning space contributes intentionally to children’s development.
